It’s very difficult to find an industry or job to get excited about everyday. For me, I will tell you honestly that the travel industry isn’t necessarily what I’m interested in — I’m interested in getting other people out into the world to see what I’ve seen. To smell the crisp cold air of the Canadian Rockies, or float effortlessly in the Mediterranean Sea for hours, or to have lively conversations with strangers over tapas in your best attempt at speaking Spanish. I’m interested in genuine experiences of a location, and feeling unsure and a bit uncomfortable stepping into something you’ve never experienced. And most importantly, I’m interested in you — yes, you. I want you to see the best of the world and its people — to gain a better understanding of yourself and to see every place that makes you stop in your tracks and breathe deeply. That’s what I want — if that’s what you want too, then let’s chat!
So, why do you need someone to help you plan a trip in the age of the internet?
It takes a lot of time to plan the details of your trip. Flights, transportation, hotels, day trips, car rentals, travel insurance, packing…all these things combined can equal a lot of stress — multiplied by the number of people in your party.
How can I help?
Luckily for you, I have traveled fairly extensively and I’ve done my fair share of learning on the fly. My current job as a travel agent allows me to have the resources and contacts for all of these little tidbits to make your trip seamless and stress free.
I’ve immersed myself in everything travel. I have experience having terrible travel days, missed connections, plans falling through, hotels not having a record of my reservations, hidden costs, getting injured while traveling — things that I don’t want to happen to you.
How can I help?
Planning a seamless trip that allows for whatever your personality calls for is tricky. There are people that love escorted tours and those that want to do their own thing in a rental car. And, there are cities that are conducive to certain forms of transportation. All these little details and knowledge of a location can make a huge difference in your travel experience. I can arrange all the details to make sure that your hotel, sightseeing, transportation, and adventures go exactly how you want them to.
Attention to detail.
Whether it’s a girls’ getaway, a quick holiday, solo trip, or group adventure, my ability to pay attention to small details that can make your holiday memorable and special is crucial.
So, here’s the nitty gritty of the services I can provide…
A consultation that will allow me to assess what you’re looking for as well as suggest options that would fit those needs and desires. This is the most crucial part of the process. By having a personal consultation and talking through the details of what destinations and adventures you’re looking for, I can help you to create the perfect trip.
Accommodation suggestions. Luxury hotels, AirBnB stays, Eco-lodges in the Amazon Rain forest, all-inclusive resorts, boutique hotels, hotels for the budget-conscious — there are nearly endless options. There is certainly something that can be said for having a centrally located hotel, and this is a detail that I never overlook.
Sightseeing. There are must-sees everywhere in the world. One of the worst feelings is discovering something nearby that you’ve overlooked after you’ve already left. Let’s avoid that. I will be thorough in discussing these must sees with you as we determine what your itinerary will allow for.
Restaurants. Every country has food that is central to it’s identity — I’ll be sure to toss in some recommendations for restaurants in the area you’ll be staying.
Transportation. Flights, airport transfers to hotels, rental cars, trains, buses and everything in between. This singular aspect of travel planning can really make or break a holiday — missed connections and being stranded somewhere for one of your precious exploring days is a sure way to bring down your fun. I can arrange all the in-between’s and to’s and from’s so you can spend more time adventuring and less time simply getting there.
Certified. That’s right, ya’ll. I studied and took a national accredited exam that let’s me say I’m a travel consultant with gusto. There are many people that offer travel planning services, however – and I may be biased – but I think I have a leg up here.
I’ve been to and have studied locations and attractions around the world and have worked hard to make sure I know what you would love to see and experience. I currently work at a travel agency based in California and I assist adventurers, like you, in planning vacation that are authentic. No cookie cutter vacations here!
